Contrary to the claims by the Nigeria police that Iyaloja of Isua Akoko south east local government chief Mrs Hellen Edward who was abducted last Thursday along with others on Ogbese-Uso axis of Akure Owo road, has not been released.
The State Police command through its spokesman, Tee-Leo Ikoro had declared that the force rescued some of the abducted travellers, but the family of the victims described the police claim as untrue.
SUNSHINETRUTH learnt that the daughter of the kidnapped Iyaloja, Mrs Alaba Edward, one of the children of the abducted said they spoke with their mother in captivity who appealed to them to look for money to pay ransom for her release in the hands of her abductors.
She explained that the news of her mother release brought joy to the entire Isua community before they discovered that she hadn’t be released.
Alaba said that the 11million naira earlier demanded had been reduced to 5million which the poor family couldn’t afford to pay.
The leader of the market woman leader, Mrs Hellen Edward was the only female in that Isua group abducted while one escaped they still remained five in the den of kidnappers.
Meanwhile concerned elders of Akoko had called on police to follow the directives of inspector General of police and return to their duty posts.
The duo of Femi oloketuyi and chief saliu okoja in a chat disclosed that the roles of police on road patrols and security watch on flash point’s can’t be over emphasized.
They said police should not fold arms and allow criminals to take over the country.
