**Shackles of Poverty, Oppression, Others ‘ll be Broken this Year – Iralepo
Members of isinkan Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN have held the 2023 universal week of prayers at the palace of Isinkan Monarch, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III).
The event which was the maiden edition brought together leadership of the Christian body in Akure south local government area and Ondo State, Olus, High chiefs, chiefs in Isinkan and residents of the kingdom.
In his sermon which centered on love, Reverend Philips Ajayi of Saint Thomass Anglican Church, Isinkan said all Nigerians need at this moment is to love one another.
The cleric said with love all things are possible “the most powerful recommendation for any church is that the members love one another!”
“The church is a community of love. We owe it to the Lord, to each other, and to the watching world.”
“Let brotherly love abound more and more. Let Christian sympathy go out to those in need. Let us pray for one another and especially for those with whom we disagree.” He admonished
The Chairman of CAN in Ondo State, Reverend Father, Anselm Ologunwa who was represented by the Secretary, Rotimi Amos said the year 2023 is an important one in the annals of the nation and charged Nigerians to live up to expectations.
He harped on the need for Nigerians to exercise their civic responsibilities by voting for candidates of their choice and shun vote buying and selling.
Reverend Ologunwa who thanked the Isinkan Monarch for his show of love maintained that the new year prayer at the palace would be a continuous one.
The Chairman of CAN in Akure south local government, Senior Apostle B.O Ajimiwe and the Chairman of CAN in Isinkan Kingdom, Onihinrere Jesujimade Babaiyere called for love amongst CAN members and Nigerians at large.
They harped on the efficacy of prayers and enjoined Nigerians to pray without ceasing.
The clergymen said the creation of Isinkan CAN would further engender unity amongst members.
The Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula who thanked CAN for the creation of Isinkan branch relived how new year prayers were being done in the community.
He said with Isinkan CAN in place, rigor of observing the new year prayers had been eliminated.
Oba Olofin-Adimula who reiterated that Isinkan is a separate community from Akure said there would be further synergy between his kingdom and CAN on how to bring about anticipated development in the kingdom.
He urged Nigerians to always seek the face of God in all their endeavours and expressed optimism that shackles of poverty and oppression among other setbacks would be broken this year.
The event featured prayers for Nigeria, Ondo State, Akure South/North local governments, Isinkan Kingdom as well as Sons and Daughters of Isinkan among others.
