An All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain and legal practitioner, Barr. Sola Ajisafe last night narrowly escaped assassination by a yet to be identified person in Akure.
According to Mr Ajisafe the unknown assailants who were in a black EOD car had been on his trail from the Union Bank area Alagbaka when he was returning from office.
Barr Ajisafe who was admitted into an undisclosed hospital after the close shave with death said the suspected Assassin came in through the NECO Office junction passing through the Senior Staff Club gate
The APC Chieftain while narrating his ordeal said the suspected assassin attempted to knock him down but zoomed off on when the attempted fained.
While not suspecting anyone, he said the failed attack may not be without political undertones particularly not unconnected with his agitation in fighting the injustice perpetrated in the just concluded Federal House of Representatives primary election in the Akoko South East/South West Federal Constituency. He went further that he had been receiving threatening calls for some time now.
Barr Ajisafe who is in the campaign train of one of the aspirants, Dr Ategbole and the mouth piece of the campaign has been taking necessary steps at ensuring justice is done in line with Electoral Act and INEC Guidelines.
The matter had been reported to the security agencies.
